Default Seat Wear

I noticed this on my driver's seat. It looks like some of the leather is peeling off.

I have a MY00, but I only have 16K on the clock.

I understand there will be some wear and tear on leather seats, but is this normal?

I'd take it to a dealership if it's still under warentee. There's been people who've gotten their seats replaced with less wear. It's worth a try.

I have the Honda Care warranty, but I'm not sure if Honda will cover it. It looks like a defect to me because the wear seems isolated to that one spot and I don't believe there is any significant wear anywhere else on the seat.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have the same wear on my passenger seat in the same spot. I have a 2001 and it has about 53 thou miles on it. Of those 53 thou The pass seat has been sat in aprox 10 or 15 thou miles. I never checked to see if Honda would cover it under warranty.

Do you guys drive with your WALLET in your R a$$ pocket?
Or anything else that could be rubbing there?

I take my wallet out of my back pocket when I'm driving. I can't think of anything that would be rubbing in that area.

I took my car into Honda this morning. The service advisor told me that if I was still under the factory warranty, it would be covered, but the Honda Care warranty does not cover upholstery.

I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised at their response. At this point I'm undecided if I want to pursue this further with Honda.

i have bad seat wear on the sides of my car with 36,000 miles on my car, what I hear that this is kinda normal because our leather on the seats is kinda cheap compared to others.

If by "cheap" you mean it's mostly vinyl, then yes.
