Default Driver side latch noise?

Hi, guys:

Anyone has the similar issue with the soft top latch noise? My driver side latch started making rattling noise recently when the top is closed while going over uneven surfaces.

Any solutions? Thanks

Mine has the same issue, and it started right from when I drove it home from the dealer. It seems to be the way they made the latches. There's a little plastic piece that's not really attached to anything and that's the thing that shakes on mine. If you stick your hand and hold the "sides" you will feel it. It's a little loose and it will stop rattling when you hold it.

I don't know of any real way to stop it. Sometimes when it's really annoying, I'll put an old receipt I have laying around, fold it up, and kinda stick it there. That stops it.....until the next time I go top-down and it blows away. My hardtop latches don't do that.

When I bought mine, the original owner showed me a piece of tubing he put over the latch to stop it rattling. I'll post a pic when I get home (on Tuesday). I don't have any rattling at any speed.

Yup! Or just shove in some electrical tape or whatever ...

New strikers needed? Maybe worn. They are what the latches latch on to.

how can it be worn out parts when it was happening when my car had 1.6 miles on it ?, it happened within a 1/2 mile of the stealership when the car was brand new.

Luckily I did not buy the car to drive with the top up, the top stays down on my car for months at a time, I went 7 months without putting it up at all and now that the rains have gone, looking forward to another 7plus months without it up.

But it is a design flaw somewhere in the latch that it rattles like that, i saw a fix here where some guy put in that expendable foam that he sprayed in, seems to have worked. AND If your S is old, you might try new latches as they do wear.
