Drivers Window Auto Down Fixed!!!!
Two weeks ago the driver window auto down stopped working. I actually did a "search" and found that the problem was not the switch, but the motor. I printed this out and took it to the local Honda Dealer, they read the post and they found a TSB on this problem, and ordered the motor. Two days later the motor was in and I left the car with them and they had it installed in about 2 hours. Thanks for all the help I have received from this GREAT forum!!!! BTW, the dealer did a great job on the fix. No problems, no test drives, no scratches, no creased rear window.......
Sondra,
Sounds like mine! I'm afraid to take it in because, as you know it will work perfectly in front of them and then fail as soon as we're alone. Sometime when I'm there for something else maybe I'll trick it into not working

Here are the search results about this problem. I understand from talking the the Parts guy that there are only 75 of these replacement motors in stock in the USA. So, get yours before they're all gone.

I printed out the first link and showed it to the parts and service guys. No problem or questions asked about a replacement.

I may or not have this problem. It seems my window doesn't behave properly, if I alread have it partially open(prior to operating the top), or have the door open.
Not sure what causes this but it works OK otherwise.

My auto down feature doesn't work either and when I let the top down the window goes down about an inch or so, then stops. I have to hold the button after the top is all the way down to make the drivers side window go down.
thats funny. i just noticed mine doing that yesterday. i will print out the thread fromt the first link and when i have time will take it in. also, mine does not seem to be intermittent rather the autodown feature does not work at all. thank god the window still goes down! now the only problem is when to find time to take it in.

When I lower my top, the drivers window only goes down about half way. I seem to remember other members having this same problem. Is this worth a trip to the dealer (I can always lower the window before dropping the top)?
When I took mine in to get fixed, the Parts guy looked on his computer parts inventory and found that there were only 75 window motors in inventory in the USA. He ordered mine out of Atlanta (2 in inventory there) and it came in 2 days later. He said that if the USA supply of motors is gone, expect a 2-3 week delay in getting one from Japan. He also found a TSB about this problem with the drivers door window auto-down. The TSB said it was a "short in the ground circuit" that controlled the auto-down feature. So, Honda knows about this problem and they know what they need to do to fix it.
My suggestion is: if you are experiencing this problem, get it fixed ASAP before all 75 motors are gone. That is my $.02............
