Just the sight of a polished S provokes a reaction in people. Some, because of envy or jealously tend to drive more irrationally than normal. So whenever I'm in traffic I drive with much caution. Any moving vehicle could possibly be driven by a drunken psychotic. I drive in the holes and don't tailgate, I use the speed and agility of the S to escape traffic pockets and keep as much distance in front as in back of me, theoretically. This is not easy as the S has the gravatational attraction of a black hole for some over enthusiastic, but not always friendly observers. It feels good to rant on this subject, thanks. Drive safe and prosper.

I notice the same thing. People tailgate the hell out of me in the S. Personally if I see a nice car driving around I give them tons of room, mainly because I dont want to hit them lol

For me, when I see a nice car, I slow down to look at them closely.
I don't try to race them or anything.. probably because when I say nice cars, they are mostly close to be 500hp and cost so much more than 100k

Now I am guessing, those people who drive aggressively around s2000s won't do the same around Ferrari Italia or Lamborghinis.
I am sure people are thinking 'my driving skill is so good that if I drive fast, I can be faster than your little "sports car"'.

i don't notice it much back in my college town, but when i'm back home (especially with the top down) i get mean mugs from EVERYONE, mainly older adults. i'll be driving normal, i don't even speed (the most is 5 over) and i rarely hit vtec with other people around or punch the throttle. maybe cause they think the car is more expensive than what it actually is and they see a young guy driving? apparently my friend's parents were shocked how my parents could afford such a car for me

I think you nailed it. I'm 27 and look 17, so I get stares constantly and tailgated far more than I did in my Si when I had it. People are always trying to catch up to me when I'm having fun and minding my own business, not driving wrecklessly. Male Honda Odyssey drivers drive me crazy! Maybe some are former 'S' owners that are jealous they no longer can own one or never got the opportunity, but whatever the case may be, they are super aggressive on parkways and try to pass or tail gate me as much as possible. Dropping down a couple grars and creating distance on the parkway seems to be the only way out of it. May sound bad, but believe me when I say something bad would happen if I didn't since they'll follow me even if I try to get out of their way sometimes.

When my top is down, forget it. I almost get rear ended at red lights regularly because people are trying to catch up and stay on me for no reason. On the positive side I do get random honks from drivers on the other side of the street that I'm assuming are due to admiration because I'm usually driving casually when it happens.
