i drive from 3-5k, i cruise from 3-4k... 6th doesnt get used until 55mph

2500-3000rpm if just cruising around.

 

ap1, normal accelration I shift at 4k in lower gears and about 3.5k in higher gears, I try to cruise in the 2.5k-3k range. at 40 I vary between 5th and 6th for cruising depending on the situation

 

At 40MPH I am in 6th gear. I'm always in between the 2K to 3K range for daily driving. I've gotten 26 to 27 MPG consistently like this for the past months. If you're wondering I do enjoy my fair share of VTEC as well.

These engines do not like low RPMS!

The only time it should be below 3,000 rpms is if you are launching normally from a stop or sitting and idling!

The 2.0L motor is at home while still getting good MPG's between 3-4 RPMs and I shift at 4-5K rpms.

 

At 40mph Im usually in 4th or 3rd gear. That puts me around 3.5-4k rpms, just in case i have to speed up to avoid danger and such.

 

Me always 4th gear. Feels perfect and smooth ride

yup, your driving habits mirror mine. i get 23-24mpg LIFETIME driving it this way. its not a prius nor a high torque diesel
