there's so many wrong info in there..

first off, you don't need to take everything part to get it out, just open the pump lid which is covered by the carpet cover in the trunk.

just use one of those mechanic's magnet pick up to pick up the nut

well if i dropped a cap in my tranny then i would most defintely get that out. thats alot different than a bolt or nut in a gas tank. that would suck if the cap got caught inbetween a gear. but theres no moving parts in the gas tank. i guess if your that meticulous about your car then i dont see why not tanke the time to fish it out. but if you arent then screw it.
true I agree, I mean... just in a peace of mind sense

I did not remove the fuel pump.
I opened the gas cap, there were 3 little 8mm nuts that hold the gas line.
When I loosened the top one it dropped into the hole (I should have kept the gas cap on but I opened it because I thought I could pull the entire gas line into the trunk).

Where exactly is this pump lid so I can try to get it out ? picture?

Thanks.

same thing happend to me. I told my cousin "cover up the hole with a cloth or something"

him: "nah its koo nothing will (dink) uhh oh shit i droped the nut"

me: ".... nice"

we never took out the nut and its been a good 5 months with no probs yet. He said if something were to ever happen he'd pay for everything.

Take a match and throw it in the gas tank, maybe itll blow out the nut... or the car... but atleast your mind will be clear.

You'll be fine, the fuel pump wont pick it up. You might however hear it rattling around.

let me know If you decide to take it out, I'll walk you through the easiest way I know to get it out.
