Anyone know if there is a drop-in K&N (or other reputable brand) filter that will fit our car without modifications? Does this "modofication" risk any warranty claims? If there has been a thread on this alredy...sorry, please direct me.

Mingster,

Does the cover fit back on w/ that filter or does it stay as shown in the picture?

I bought the JR filter from Import Development (aka: Mingster) and it is great. Installed it in about 3min and fits exactly like the stock filers does. I now have a little more intake noise from 4K to 9K RPM. It sounds very cool. The quality of the materials was very good if not better than K&N.

Cheers,

A very small piece of advice re: the JR Filter. (I only thought to do this after reading the concerns about the fit) When you take the airbox off, very carefully observe how the intake hose seats in the box at the opening. There are a lot of grooves and if you don't look, you might not put the right groove in the right place. That said, mine went in perfectly (with a little elbow grease) in about 4 minutes
