and I'd do it again tomorrow, then next day, etc.

Some friends of mine were married Saturday in Atlanta. I decided to drive down instead of fly. It was a 700 mile 11 hour trip down on Thursday (arrived in time for the bachelor pub crawl) and 11 hours back yesterday.

So many people were like 11 hours! A few truly understood. With the top down, it's was like communing with nature (except that mosquitoes hit the windshield before they could bite me). The drive cleansed the soul much like a hike deep into the woods. I experienced the sunset last night passing through hills, forest and over rivers. Next to the engagement ring my wife said yes too, the S is the second best purchase of my life.

One woman said she spent all day in her car doing the soccer mom thing. She couldn't relate at all. To much thinking "inside" the box.

I could relate to her. The 9 hour trips to Cincinnati we take with the kids in the sequioia wear me out. Car pooling the kids around to school/activities in the van is really un-rewarding. Put the top down and you are no longer in a car, you are outside enjoying the world around you.

For the newbs, wait until you have your first full moon drive 'round midnight (if not already). I've had a few coming back from Boston and let me tell you, even birds get jealous.

I took a full moon ride for the first time this month. I only planned on going about 20-30 miles but ended up going about 130.

I did 625miles nonstop (except gas) from Austin to El Paso. Felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time (a little sunburnt though). The S is more comfortable for long distance travel than almost any other car I've driven. I think the firm seats are a good thing for long drives.

There is no substitute for top down driving. There is no substitute for a great wife. Some of us have it all.

Great story. I too fall asleep driving my SUV and come alive driving my S.
