Drove an AP1 again... reactions from AP2 owner

A member in Greek forums has put the 2.2L stroker kit in his 2001 ap1 along with other mods and...wow...it's a different car!
250whp, 24kgm torque!
Stock MY '00 - '03 200 - 205whp, MY '04+ (ap1) 210 - 213whp, torque 19kgm on this dyno.
The difference of 300rpm lower rev limiter (8500) does not show, the car revs faster than before.
If engine rebuild is in mind, 2.2L (+mods) gives S2000 the extra power and torque it needs to keep up with its rivals (BMW M3 e46, new Audi S3 stays behind
) and brings a bigger smile to its owner
No way you can get 250whp with the 2.2 stroker kit. Dont really know what that has to do with this thread but the 2.5 is usually around 250whp. No way a 2.2 will have 250whp. It wont keep up with the an E46 M3. Plus the money you spend on a stroker kit you might as well get a FI kit and get more power for the money.
^^ It looks like a DynoPack dyno chart...so it's probably 250bhp rather than whp. But even still...250bhp is the kind of number you might see on Church's Magic Dyno, which has some calibration issues. It would be good to know what the "few other mods" are.

P.S.: Numbers are true. He raced both cars and both stayed behind

Specs:
F20C stock block, stock pistons
F22C crank 90.7mm
F22C rods, cryo treated, ARP rod bolts
OEM Honda main/rod bearings, GearTech Blueprinted (align honed mains)
Spoon head gasket (12:1 compression)
Toda A2 cams
Skunk2 valve springs-retainers
DC sports header
Apexi dual exhaust
BP racing spec intake manifold(ported ΟΕΜ F22C)
J's Racing TB
ΑΕΜ EMS
^^ OK, definitely a reasonable number on a DynoPack with those mods...especially the 12:1 compression and EMS. That should be about 230-235whp on a DynoJet and 220-225whp on a DynoDynamics.
For comparison, my F20 with a lot fewer mods (i/h/e/ems) puts down 215whp on a DynoDynamics...which would probably be about 240-245bhp on the dyno your friend used.

Perfect s2k = AP2 body and wheels, AP1 engine with AP2 tranny, and CR suspension.
Just doesn't have the VSA ... that's all
Well, mine's a AP2 tranny mechanically with AP1 gearing ...
I driver a AP1 and i have a friend that has a AP2. Honestly the powerband of the F22 is smoother and rev up faster. As for the AP1 it just seem like a lil rev happy machine. My friend drove my car and he said it was a whole a lot lighter then his car. The tranny for the AP1 is a bit noisy from time to timie. Honestly i wouldnt mind having a AP2 tranny cause it seem a whole lot smoother. IMO the AP1 is faster then the AP2 but take a lil more skills to drive cause of the suspension set up. I raced a AP2 plenty of time and for some odd reason VTEC kicks in a lot harder then the AP2. But that just my two cents.
