For comparison, my F20 with a lot fewer mods (i/h/e/ems) puts down 215whp on a DynoDynamics...which would probably be about 240-245bhp on the dyno your friend used.
I do not know the differences between different dynos - DynoJet, DynoPack etc. That 2001 ap1 pulled 200+ stock and now is 250 with the 2.2L crank+mods on the same dyno

Don't get me wrong guys, I am a happy ap1 owner with all the benefits from ap2 except from the tranny I just think ap2 owners should not be jealous of ap1 owners just because of the 9k rpm revving. Tuned ap2 makes better power than tuned ap1 and 300rpm less is not really an issue.

If his car was putting 200bhp stock on a DynoPack, then his engine had a problem. Maybe that is why the engine rebuild was in mind. No way that a 200cc stroker even with the mods you mentioned would add 50hp.

I've seen many tuned ap1s and ap2s tuned by the same tuner on the same dyno. Stock, the average ap2 puts down 10-12whp more than the average ap1. Once tuned, that hp difference pretty much goes away...so close that it is within the error of the dyno. The ap2 always has a torque advantage...tuned and untuned.

I hate these threads.

I had an AP1 for over a year, then traded it in for an 06 AP2. Sorry AP1 owners, but I've been happier with it, for many, many reasons.

Had an AP1 (02 Sebring) from 2004 to 2007, then got an 07 GPW.

AP2 FTW.

I'd rather have more torque than 900 extra RPMs.

Case Closed.

I driver a AP1 and i have a friend that has a AP2. Honestly the powerband of the F22 is smoother and rev up faster. As for the AP1 it just seem like a lil rev happy machine. My friend drove my car and he said it was a whole a lot lighter then his car. The tranny for the AP1 is a bit noisy from time to timie. Honestly i wouldnt mind having a AP2 tranny cause it seem a whole lot smoother. IMO the AP1 is faster then the AP2 but take a lil more skills to drive cause of the suspension set up. I raced a AP2 plenty of time and for some odd reason VTEC kicks in a lot harder then the AP2. But that just my two cents.
Its because AP2s have more power below VTEC - AP1s suffer from no power off VTEC comparably. AP2s are if anything faster than AP1s - its been proven and the car has gotten faster every two years or so as the car is tweaked. Each new iteration is a little bit faster and better.

After reading a few of the responses, I guess it comes down to personal preference.

And actually just 400rpms with a little reflash from Hondata. If you haven't purchased the flash, don't hesitate any longer, just get the Toda reflash and pick up a decent exmani.
