Is there any exhaust that doesn't sound ricey? I think the invidia would be the best, the comptech is horrible, imo, from the videos at the "exhaust library"

T1r Sparrow. It was my 3rd exhaust, and the only one I would consider if I ever get another S!

It doesn't drone in my opinion. I also went from an Invidia which drones sooooo much. The Invidia is garbage btw. Its made like a piece of shit. The Sparrow sounds awesome, no drone, and the size of the tips look great. They look like a performance exhaust should, not rice cans.

I'm selling my Tanabe SMR exhaust if your interested. It was installed in August and then the car was garged November 1st. It sounds great and the construction is very good. I'm going to go with a Amuse R1000 single exhaust for even more weight reduction and because I think a single looks better with the Ings rear bumper. Let me know if your interested. If anyone else is interested, I also have an OEM cat back system, still in contact.

I would actually recommend the Comptech. It is what I have installed on my car. Not ricey sounding at all. Nice and deep under 3000 RPM, then it gets over taken by the intake in VTEC (I have an INJEN RS). None of that fart can sound, as its resonated. Comptech claims +3rwhp, and there are dyno carts on their site to back it up. (Although I do not fully trust their numbers, as they have a vested interest in them).

Sounds amazing....especially in parking garages / tunnels . I also like the fact that it still sort of looks OEM. Nicely polished rounded tips.

Based on your statement, it seems like you wre inferring that the Comptech was horrible because it was ricey. If that is the case, the clip does not due it justice.

The way I can describe it......like HKS but not as loud and it is a good bit quiter in the upper RPM range. I wanted this because I still commute in this car, and an interstate trip longer than a few hours with the HKS and I would want to shoot myself. I did not want to be continually reminded the exhaust was there while driving long distance. It is also a tiny bit deeper down low and under load, but lacks that "racecar" sound in the upper RPM range (why a LOT of people love the HKS).

It's hard to tell what any of the exhausts truly sound like from a low quality video. What I'm mostly concerned with is that it doesn't sound like a civic is approaching before the car is in view. I know that's probably not an easy task, seeing it's only a 2.0/2.2 liter engine. That's why i'm going with the stock for now (plus i'm dead broke) ^_^

Does the comptech have a deep, throaty sound when revved into vtec? I guess i'm expecting to hear a cobra with a flowmaster.... that's all american cars are good for, their exhaust note

I have an Invidia and the sound is all subjective. I feel it is way too droney and not ideal for daily driving in the least - silencers help a lot, but then any performance gains you may have had are lost with them. With a test pipe in, the exhaust is just crazy loud! That said, I believe it is probably the best sounding exhaust WOT!

After much research myself on this subject - I am replacing my Invidia with the Mugen exhaust - quiet, good looking and light. And it will compliment my Mugen header
