"Dude, nice Civic!"
I was at an ice cream place few nights ago and the guy that was working there said "Hey nice Civic u got there!". I was so pissed at him and was insulted. I said, "hey u could buy 2 civics with that car man". Do you guys ever have this problem? I mean i don't memorize all the model names in the auto industry but dang, i know what car is what and who makes it. Some peeps are just stupid.
My favorite one was tonight when I just got through handing this guy his ass in his new prelude, and he pulls up and says, "Nice car, does it go pretty good?" I said to him "You tell me." and he just stares like an idiot. DUH. some people.
FULLTHROTTLE,
I just got back from 5 days in Estes Park. Nice area and plenty of twisties. More than once some numbnut asked, what kind of car is that? I'd reply it's a Honda and they would tell me that Honda doesn't make a ragtop. How many guys on crotch rockets die a week out there? Those guys aren't playing with all their marbles, but I guess sometimes the herd needs thinned.

Which way did you go to Estes? Peak to Peak or up from Loveland? If you went up from Loveland, there is a longcut called Devil's Pass or Devil's Canyon. It is too tight and twisty for the RV and truck crowd which makes it way fun for the go-fast crowd. When I was in college my roomate and I would take his 914 up and down that road. Oh momma that was fun.

Hey, you guys have to remember that most of us here are car nuts. We would not have this car and be on this forum if we weren't. It does not surprise me at all that people do not know what my S2000 is. You don't see many around, you don't see much advertising for it, and the average person just doesn't pay that much attention to car brands in general.
I think it is great that people think it is a Porsche since they associate Porsche with fast cars, racing, big bucks etc... They don't know that Honda has a strong racing heritage because they sell Accords and Civics not a line of race cars. Sure there is the NSX but a lot of people don't know that Acura and Honda are the same company.
Don't get so worked up if someone does not know what it is or even thinks that it is another Honda model. They see the H badge and think that Honda finally made a convertible out of one of its current models, so big deal. You then get the chance to explain all about it and I am sure, just like me, that you enjoy doing that.
