Hey guys, today I had my prototype RS*R 70mm single exhaust installed, it's a very nice, free-flowing exhaust (does have one resonator, but it doesn't do that much ) ... I could go into my thoughts, but I'd rather hear yours.
The first two runs (baseline) are in blue, the second two runs (w/ exhaust) are in green & red. The pulls were basically done back to back w/ no ice on engine or manifold, and on the second pull of each set of pulls the aux. fans kicked on, so the engine was muy caliente.
No, the weird thing is that it definately IS faster -- besides the fact that it cut about 30-35lbs off my car, I can now spin the wheels on the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts, and chirp the 4-5 if I feel like it. The car is definately feeling faster, which has nothing to do w/ sound (since I've had other exhausts on as well). The dyno just sucks!
Yeah, I thought someone would have pointed this out by now, but if you look at the AFR it sucks! I'm running an AFR of like 12, for some reason after we put on the exhaust the AFR got about a point richer, I think it's that we didn't give the ECU the time to learn the exhaust, not totally sure though.
Yes these are uncorrected. FL is pretty much at sea level, so not a big deal, but it was also about 92* and 80% humiditiy the entire time, so that undoubtedly has an effect on the #s.
Follow-up post -- when they dyno'd my car (after exhaust was installed) there were a couple issues ... first, the auxillary fans turned on, which means that the engine was hot, probably not optimal for dyno #s. Second and more questionable, the rear dyno straps were interfering with the RS*R exhaust, so they had to roll the car back a little bit on the dyno and strap it down differently -- as far as placement, normally when you dyno the rear wheels are right at the edge of the rollers; the second round of pulls was done with the wheels right on top of the rollers -- would that make a difference?
