it seems to me that '01 S2000s consistently pull anywhere from 5 to 10HPs more than '00 S2000s on the dyno, i wonder why? my stock numbers where like 195HPs, and Socal28's '01 pulled 205HPs stock on the same dyno at the same time.

I think my dyno at that time was a fluke! I dynoed at R&D again with JR Filter and PF TB and didn't see any increase from 205. In fact, first couple of runs were around 203 area. I would say around 200 is normal for 2001.

My guess is that the average 01 is more properly broken-in than your average 00. The reason for this is this board. Most guys who got 01s probably read all about break-in.

Some people don't believe in the importance of break-in, some do, my Prelude SH and S2000 were broken in the same way and they were both easily 5-10 HP at the wheels more then others. Maybe it is luck.

I dyno'ed pretty high as well. First time was 204.5hp (1100miles) and second time with just JR filter 207.9hp (2700miles). I am headed back, hopefully tomorrow (if the guy who sold me the FPR sends me the fuel rail bracket for my FPR today via Fedex....hint, hint!). The third time will be with Denso plugs, ProFlow TB, and maybe the FPR (if I get the fuel rail bracket).

Interesting... I am 'only' getting the average 200hp to the wheels.

Richard, mine is a 2001 with about 195 at the wheels. Maybe you're seeing a statistical fluke?

I guess Shingles hit it the best. 200hp is about "average".

Modern ECUs learn the way you drive. Amartin simply reset his ECU and has had better Gtech times. Now this could be a fluke, or it could be the fact that the computer is seeing lots of WOT runs.

I read in another post "How many times do you VTEC?". They go on to say 3 times a day. I see four VTEC transitions by the time I hit the interstate, which is 1 mile away from my house. I guess that is why my license plate says REV HRD.

Now my car engine may not last as long as I would like, but....
1.- That is why I bought an extended warranty.
2.- My Del Sol VTEC never once complained to 90,000 miles. Then I sold it . Highly modded, all motor.
3.- My Civic Ex never complained until 140,000 miles. Then I sold it. Lightly modded.

I guarantee that if Mark (aka Lips2000) got his car dyno'ed it would put down over 200hp. He drives harder then I do, even in reverse!!!!
