Off topic, but I remember you telling me to get a Flash Pro at a track event in Perris a year ago. I have a silver 06. I dynoed 217 stock and I got my Flash Pro yesterday. I flashed the Toda tune (I have a 63mm resonator and exhaust) and I'll be testing it at Adams tonight for time attack.

So the AP2 will make power all the way until rev limiter kicks in?

Nice, have fun at Adams

I would highly recommend getting the car dyno tuned. The Injen tune/flash knocked on all 4 cylinders quite a bit. Dyno tuned professionally is the way to go. Every car is different. besides, all those flashes/tunes flashpro comes with are base tunes to start off with.

Oh I realize it does little on it's own in terms of HP/TQ gain, but a good tuning with a CAI and exhaust is much better than no tuning with the same mods, no? If this were the case, your buddys had a disadvantage in your dyno comparo

I had a ap1 with a '05 Ap2 Motor with 32,000 miles on it. The car was all stock for mods. I had a ap2 exhaust on it.. and a stock cat, stock air filter VERY dirty. It put down 218 WHP 163 Ft- lbs.

True...But there was one that has an AEM EMS. Ran 209 whp untuned and 210 whp tuned. Only gained 1 whp tuned but he stated that his car runs a lot stronger throughout the whole rpm band from the tune.

Both my car and Xiao Li's car that WhiteFlash posted were not stock. .. I had a Comptech Icebox (intake), and Fujitsubo exhaust. Xiao Li had an AEM intake, Toda exhaust manifold, and Greddy SE Single (but he also had a problem with the cat that day, I believe.)

Not going to lie... The AP2's did put up better dyno numbers. But if we bought our cars to be dyno-queens, then we'd all be driving Supras, right?

i have an ap1 and i wish i had an ap2 engine. the ap2 engine NA on average makes about 15whp more than the ap1 2.0 engine. Both engines are ungodly slow non boosted. but with a turbo the ap2 engine will spool the turbo much faster and also makes much more power than an ap1 engine.

Truth. Which is why I always laugh when the AP1 guys talk about how 9K RPM is so much better than 8K RPM. Arguing about your engine's redline is like competing in the special olympics. Even if you win, your car is still slow.
