Oh, and that little dip in the torque curve is common to many if not most of the dyno plots I have seen on VTEC cars.

I figured it was torque beginning to drop off as the engine's appitite for air began to be starved by the lower lift shorter duration cams. Just means Honda picked the right engagement point for the switch-over to the freer breathing allowed by the larger cams.

The consensus amongst a lot of people on this forum is that the ARC intake loses power/ torque, or both. A member in my local club had the ARC intake, and HKS hi power exhaust and made 286 on a dynojet.

Honestly, why did you stray from the stock airbox? It's a really good design. That ARC thing is a waste of 500 bucks imo.

You should really just take a step back from the modification kick and don't worry about any numbers a dyno spits out. Why did you buy the parts in the first place? If you bought them to make your car faster, then you should have done a dyno pull or three prior to the modificaitons since now you don't know if they made power or not. Are you competing to win anything? If not, then don't worry about it.

Drive and have fun.

Screw dyno queens.

bolt on hardly improve the entire power band without some sort of reflush.

most of the modern design are pushing the edge of the factory hardware, there's alot less on the table now. the day of 20 hp with a bolt on 4 barrel are long gone.

on some of the BMW bolt on, they will not sell just the hardware alone, they comes with a reflush or add on's to the ecm.

thanks guys, I only did a dyno for the kick of it. It was my first dyno and I was just curious. I'll start to get serious about numbers after I boost sometime in the future. Also I do realize people do not gain much of anything from ARC, but I didnt think many people gained much from and of the other jdm brands. I was always told you wont really feel much til you are going 60+ mph.

oh well thank for the comments guys.

Dude! It was 92 degrees and 50% humidity! When I went for my dyno, I hit 233.7 with an exhaust and TP... but it was 62 degrees. That's such an INSANE difference in temp, you couldn't even compare this dyno to someone who tested in my conditions.

If you are worried about getting a "nice" number, show up when they open the shop some overcast morning. Otherwise, I'd be very happy knowing even in lousy weather I put that down.
