Default E-Brake lever as passenger handle?

Has anyone had the problem of the passenger using the emergency brake lever as a handle to hold onto when putting the stook thru its paces?

I went for a ride with the Mrs. the other day and decided to show her what the car can do (and what I had learned to do with this wonderful car!) No sooner did I have the back end doing a beautiful power slide then I realize she is hanging onto the emergency brake lever as a support handle. God, that scared the h**l out of me. I can't imagine what would have happened if she pulled the thing up! (no comments from the peanut gallery, now).

What do you other folks see? How do your passengers hang on when you take them for a ride? Thanks.

I dont like the lever being over there. I personally like to use mine all the time, and haven't used it as much since I got rid of the miata. with the miata, its right there next to you. I figured it was for the JDM S2k's, but the JDM's have the parking brake on THEIR passenger side - thus, there is a solution out there, but sounds like a bit of trouble to get it working on the proper side where I prefer it. Then again, wonder if it could interfere with the steering wheel and maybe that's why put it over there. I'll have to look later.

Anyone that does have intention to touch the e-brake should be dropped off the car immediately or when they attempt to do anything stupid ... Just give them a big smack across the face, tell them that there is nothing in the car they should be touching in any circumstances. Sorry, don't even think about the stereo controls ...

If I go too fast, or make any move that scares my wife, she reaches over and grabs my crotch. That usually slows me down right away!

Reminds me of a time long ago when a friend's stoned girlfriend reached over to put on the turn signal for him and put his column shifter into reverse.
