I don't know how many people know about this. It's akin to the secret compartment. There is a release on the trunk lock mechanism so in case a person gets locked in the trunk they can get out. Of course I guess that'd be either if you are friends with Mini Me or are a contortionist. I don't have a digicam to show it to you, but open your trunk and look at the mechanism. It's a yellow colored handle.

I believe all cars sold in the US are required to have that.

I don't think Honda did it with the idea of a person being able to fit in there, but because it was required.

Yeah, it's a federal mandate. Just goes to show you the silly laws that are passed. It adds more weight and more cost to the s2000 (although admittedly both are minute).

I think it's only in US cars, a few years ago some idiot child locked himself in the trunk of his dad's car while playing hide-and-seek, now every car made in the USA with a trunk has to have the interior release mechanism. Another example of addressing the lowest common denominator.

They should also have an idiot light on the dash to warn the driver that the body in the trunk is still alive.

Still, if you watch films like "Very Bad Things" it's obvious you can fit someone in the trunk... some disassembly is required...

Read the manual kids, its all in there.

US cars all have it, and require it. Our Canadian S2000's don't (and I'm sure AUS, and UK cars don't either).
