Look harder man. It's in there. Unless you removed it, or you purchased a Canadian S2000.

Here's a little story for you guys. I just found out about the unlatching inside the trunk like the previous night.

I was hanging out with a friend one night and we were bored, so we decided to do something dumb but funny. So we decided to play a little trick for the people who were at a big local gas station, it was friday night so there were a lot of people at the gas station, a lot of the local teenagers hanging out too. So she climbs into my trunk (she's like 5" tall) i drive to the gas station, and just park my car (everyone stares at the car because it's obviously an S2000, no excuse needed). a minute later she unlatches the trunk for the inside and bolts away, i get out of my car and scream "hey! get back here!" and run after her. Everyone is staring in confusion I catch up to her, pick her up and run back to my car, and put her back in my car. I jumped in my car, and peeled out as fast as possible. I came back a minute later to tell everyone it was a joke, and everyone was still cracking up

Just thought i'd share this story since it was somewhat relevent. Oh and if this story seems immature and stupid, I'm 18 so I have an excuse

Actually I saw a skit similar with a midget in a suitcase where the taxi cab driver went to put the suitcase in the trunk and out popped the midget

and holding a fake gun to someone's head is illegal. If that person or someone in the vicinity is threatened by that action it's either an assault or battery (depending which state you are in).

I have one of the early 2000 models and it does have the release. It is not yellow however so it is hard to spot. It also will not do anything until you lock the lock either by closing the lid or just using a screwdriver to simulate the latch.

I thought the FBI and other law enforcement groups were the reason the trunk release was put into law. Too many mobsters and bad people put the people they kidnapped in the trunk. It was a way for those kidnapped to try and get out as well...that's why the story above makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
