don't bother then. why buy shitty ass junk for a car that costs $36k new? I wonder if its risky too...NOT. Its like shopping at Walmart, you get what you pay for.

If you can and are willing to rebuild your engine if it blows up then go for it. Other wise I wouldn't do it because you will probably end up fixing your engine and going the expensive route anyways. I say find one used on here.

Yeah that doesn't quite work. Walmart sells all name brands just for less money than other places. No sacrifice in quality there. Customer service is another thing haha.
Ebay is a great place to buy name brand items. I know they have the Greddy turbo kits on there for like $3,799 or best offer with free shipping. No vendors can touch that price. I'm sure they would accept a lower price as well since the price is OBO.
I also looked at that $999 turbo kit. I would think of getting it only if I was going to switch the turbo out for a name brand one. A lot of the wastegates and HKS style BOV and all have been shown to be pretty good for the most part.
I would assume that the couplers and clamps and all are pretty crappy. So if purchased would probably wind up replacing most parts of the kit. Also would then have to buy injectors, and tuning software and other stuff and after it is all said and done would probably come close to the cost of just buying a pre tuned Greddy turbo kit.

You get what you pay for man. Thats all I have to say. It is better to go with a reputable kit. That way there are other people with a similar setup you can ask questions if you run into problems. Plus the components are most likely better quality. Just save u and do it right. You wont regret it.

Well its not a matter of buying a ps3 at walmart vs. best buy. His analogy was more of buying an off brand product at walmart. The no name appliance or good thats 1/2 the price of the next cheapest name brand. If they had a greddy or something that was cheap then your point would be valid.

to the OP I would stay away from that. People are always bringing up "Is XXXX header from ebay any good?", thats one thing, that doesn't have nearly the same danger as a no name turbo which could ruin your engine. Im with the people who say for the price of the car, it doesn't make as much sense to put a cheap set up on to save some $$$. I'd save for a little while and get something tested, proven, reliable, that other board members have used.
