you meant to say was

"what changes on the 02' ecu make it better than 00-01 s2k's?"

the change occured in the 2002 model year. i'm not sure what they are but the 02-03's make a little more power and have better fuel economy. this should probably be moved to the s2000 talk forum anyways

More power because they leaned out the fuel mixture. This also makes your car get better gas mileage.

If the ECU update for 2002 made a noticeable power increase wouldn't Honda or some car magazine have mentioned this improvement? As far as I know the car was always quoted at 240 (237) hp. I'm not disputing, just questioning.

F22C makes noticeably more power than the F20C but the rating didn't change either. 02-03 will make 5ish hp more thanks to a leaner mixture.

Staying on point, what does conversion at a dealer entail as far as immboilizer goes...

I have an 03 ECU from a wrecker and the VIN confirming it was wrecked on the invoice.

Will any dealer swap it over -can I get it done online? Also, how much does this cost per dealer labor hours?

Thanks!

You can swap it yourself and just have the dealership reprogram it for your key to work.

search??? sorry had to. Its been covered so many times...

02-03 got leaned out and has better tune at partial throttle
Whether it makes more power is negligible
It certainly should get slightly better mileage per gallon

I did the swap some time ago. I think its a combination of SLIGHTLY more agressive timng on the low end and maybe a little leaner I don't don't know for sure about that though. It has a little more pep and I liked the fact that I did it for about $100.

But with virtually the same driving style I am getting about a mile or two per gallon less over the last couple years after the switch. Who knows, that could be the fault of another gremlin.
