The effects of forums on people
Went through the local In-N-Out drive thru tonight. Get up to the pay window, pay the ~17y.o. kid working there. Kinda stuck in line still, as the people ahead are still waiting for their grub at the grub window.
He glances back at the Big Ass Ugly spoiler I've got stuck on the back of my car, kinda glances around, and asks,
"Do you autox it?"
Now, when I read that quote, the words I say in my head are "Do you autocross it?" - but no! He actually said "X", as in "Do you auto-ecks it?"
WTF?!

That's similar to how IM abbreviations are unconsciously showing up kids' written school work.
I've never heard of any such thing migrating into verbal communication, however. That's funny.
