Default Elda bar, no padding. Where to buy?

Well, i got the elda roll bar.. i think i got a lemon. the four points were bolted down so that it sits flat (understandable to a certain point). the bar didn't clear the seatbelt guides and factory bar.. i had to cut off part of the tab on the factory bar where the seatbelt guides are bolted too since it didn't clear and the other side needed some griding of the actual seatbelt guide + washer removal to get it to clear the rollbar.. the chunk that was grinded away was rubber so it was not too much of a biggy..

now, the frustrating part after i get to the first autocross with the bar installed.. the elda bar didn't come with any padding. it's funny how it's approved for racing, but it's not allowed in autocross or track without padding.

i searched and didn't find any places to purchase padding for a good price. can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks in advance.

Who did the installation? That's who's at fault.

You can get padding at just about any place that sells racing supplies.

My Elda bar came with padding, as did the others I know about. Did you buy this directly from Elda or second hand?

i did the installation.. i followed the instructions.. i went over the instructions several times to make sure i did everything correctly..

the elda bar was purchased directly from elda, we turned the box inside out.. no padding.

thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, the only shop i know of around my area doesn't have it so i guess i will look around..

You can buy rollbar padding from Summit Racing... It comes in 6' long pieces. Just cut them to your desired length and zip-tie them in place.

I tested a protoype padding for Elda, which is why I have padding. I'll let you in on a secret: The Elda bar is the same shape as the hard dog miata bar. Get the padding for the miata bar, and you're good to go.

Rule book is here. I'll try to remember to pack it. I'm not 100% sure I'll be there this weekend, though.
