On my way home from work tonight my driver's side window found a mind of its own and continuously went up and down by itself. This freaked me out, especially since it was raining out and I couldn't bring it back up, no matter what I did. This was disconcerting enough but later on in the drive, my speedometer cut out, odometer got "stuck", EPS light came on. All returned to normal a few minutes later.

The window started freaking out again, EPS light, speedo, etc. Then the Check Engine light came on.

I suspect this was all the result of a "short" most likely caused by water getting on a wire harness somewhere.

What I wanted to know is, has anyone else seen this type of weird behavior and if so, was the cause a "short"?

New one to me. I do not remember anyone posting a similar experience either. The only electrical issue I've had and seen addressed is the driver side window not auto-rolling down with the top.

I had a similar problem with another car, an old Prelude. It was cold and wet one night, car wouldnt start, moonroof acted funny, tach would just peg to max. The car was stuck a friends house overnight. Next morning, went back and everything was fine, and the problem never came back. Hope yours is temperary too.

Window mtr assembly needs replacement (specific sub-assembly malfunction is the "detect circuit")

If she did, she only put 7 miles on it before I picked it up

It's snowing here so I'll have to wait 'til Monday to bring it by the dealer... (no snows)

I'm hoping it "just goes away" once whatever wires that are involved dry off.
