I have no problems with the controls.
But would also like to have the ring around
the ignition and start button light up as well.

Cool, I've been considering purchasing the cruise control switches (steering wheel and dash. Wanna sell them. I could send you the cover panel for the dash from mine or you could source it locally.

Anyone else?

Use them all the time and love them. I never open the cover unless I'm changing a CD.

Actually, I like the controls and most people that have driven my car comment on how ergonomic they are. The cruise control master is hard too reach, though.

I think they are useless.

1)Can't use it to tune accurately to the stations that you want. The automatic search skips over my favourite stations.

2)Still have to open the cover when I need to change CDs.

3)Can't turn off the stereo at all. I turn off my stereos when I get out of the car. Hence I have to turn it on when I get back int. Duh. So I just leave the cover open when I get in.

I would definitely remove them if I have the chance. Same goes with the Start button. GASP. Here comes the flame.

I REALLY love the car, but the button is really too gimmicky. Otherwise, EVERYTHING is perfect.

the mode button shuld be more like a joystick in that it would have a up down left right and a depressed position...that would be real nice..

Ummm...that's even uglier than the controls. I'm looking into a reversable something or other that cleans up that part of the dash.

I totally agree. I cannot believe Honda made that big-assed mode button but then only have it one function!!! It should have roated and been the volume control at the very least. I know Sony radios support wired remotes. Maybe their joystick could be taken apart and modifed so we could be more function out of that big-assed button. I'm not in a big hurry myself since the stereo quality isn't a big deal in this car (heck, I frequently leave it off -- the engine is music to my ears)!!
