Below is an exerpt from my co-worker's email, I thought I share the pertinent part with y'all:

Hi Richard,

I was coming home from work today when I saw what I thought was a Honda S2000 coming up on me from behind. I love the looks of these cars so I slowed down to check it out. This kid was going 40 in a 50mph zone, I couldn't understand it. He finally caught up to me at the light. It was an Asian kid driving, maybe 17 or 18. The car was black/black with some kind of ground effects kit, what looked like 20" rims with rubber band tires. The car was plastered with stickers, most of which I couldn't understand, has two hood scoops, and dual polished stainless steel exhaust system. When we pulled away from the light I almost barfed! You should have seen the trunk mounted spoiler on this car! It was huge! It was as tall as the roof line. Then I realized why he was going so slow. The tires were larger/wider than stock and the car has been lowered. There was maybe a quarter inch of clearance between the tires and the fenders.

I thought that's a good example of what NOT to do to our cars.

Your friend's observation proves the old adage: Some people have a lot more money than taste (and good sense).

Hey I thought (or so many here have told me) that if you own the car you are entitled to do whatever you want to it. Expressing your induviduality and so forth.

Heck some people are even planning on removing their catalytic converters.

To each their own.

Live and let live.

I'm OK your OK.

I'm am going to throw up now.

You what really cracks me up? Those pickups with hydraulic beds. Yeah, maybe I can get my S2K to move around on it's suspension while driving.

You know, purple neon lights along the rocker panels. When I come to a light. the hydraulics will drop the car to a rest. Before I go, it'll raise the car. blink the lights, and then proceed.

Here's the really weird part. I actually saw a old buick at a car show that did this. To each his own....
