Emergency Flasher turns on while shifting
If you keep both hands on the wheel when not shifting, there's no problem, but if I am just crusin' with one hand on the wheel, my right hand naturally rests at the base of the shifter, with the heel of my hand on the E-flasher. When shifts are required, it's easy to bump it on. Just be aware--or keep your hands on the wheel!
I believe it's a feature, actually. It's called Automatic Ricer Mode. It engages the flashers automatically on a downshift from 4th to 3rd to signal a "race". Obviously, you're just using it incorrectly. I thought it was only available on JDM cars though, so you must be one of those lucky few that got some actual JDM parts on a US spec car.
