Internet quotes are a waste of time. You think they save time doing it on line, but it's best to call. I did four internet quotes, then called them on the phone for a quote. I ended up getting my rate for six months on the internet quote of $950, to a real on the phone quote every six months of $490 (it may actually be less). Just pick up the phone, you will be glad you did.

Online quotes aren't accurate... Call or better yet, personally go to your local Allstate, State Farm, etc office and talk to them in person.

Enigmatic, Not so fast!!! I pay less than $700 a year. Full coverage. I insure the S and my truck for less than $1200 a year!

Get yourself a LOCAL agent. Give him your homeowners/renters/etc. all together and you should save yourself a pile of money. Local agents seem to have a way of "massaging" the rates to get you the best deal.

I was baffled.... to be branded because of a "high risk" insurance company.

Auto insurance companies who only insure good drivers look at the previous insurer. Apparently, progressive had one of their riskier underwriters do my policy. I understand the financial concepts behind insurance, they are in the business of measuring risk. FINE. The problem was that I was cleared based on age, history, car etc. The fact that I was insured by progressive (which would probably insure anyone, even DUI offenders) was an automatic "strike". I was looking for the cheapest quote, not the most prestegious (for lack of a better word) company.

USAA is by far the best out there. They had open enrollment going on a few months ago; they were letting anyone join. Not sure if the are still doing that. Couldn't hurt to call and check. When I bought the S, I called five or six places; they all said stay with USAA, we can't beat their rates (All State, Geice, State Farm, couple others). Use them for home, auto, life, and a couple other things.

Try www.response.com

I switched over to them recently from Farmers and cut my auto insurance in half. I'm pretty sure they cover Delaware.

Good luck.
