blaks2k,

Welcome to Delaware. Car insurance is terrible here. Shop around for a better rate or move Maryland. Good luck.

Originally they insured only military Officers but they have expanded quite a bit to include some Non-Commissioned Officers as well as family members of military Officers.

USAA is really amazing. My car [edit: my old Dodge Intrepid POS] got stolen while I was traveling. It was recovered fairly busted up. Cops had it towed to a dealer for me. USAA went and looked at it the same day and told the dealer to fix everything. I got home a week later and noticed a bunch of little problems; scratches on the back bumper, broken cup holder and console cover, smelled awful (broken windows and 2 days of rain). I called the claims guy and he came over.

NO fuss at all, he basically said, "Sorry, I didn't know all those things were from this incident. Bring it to the dealer and I'll OK everying, and I'll have them put in new carpets and upolstry." He called the dealer before I got there. The upolstry never got done 'cause I traded in the car, but he was going to let me take it to a specialist (on their list of approved shops).

Oh yeah, I just got my USAA member dividend check for '02 this week for over $100 dollars. I don't think any other insurers send members money every year.

Try www.esurance.com

Last December I had an accident (my fault) and totalled my 4 month old 02 RSX Type S. I had State Farm at the time, and knew the premium was going to go way up since they had to pay.

I let Esurance know about the accident when I did my online quote and they gave me a rate on my cars that was $28 per month LESS than what State Farm was charging me before the accident and I even raised my liability limits from 50/100 to 100/300!!

I've had them for a year now and am realy happy with them. The Quote I just got for my S2K when it comes in is $730 for 6 months with 110/300 liability limits and multi-car discount. I am 32, have 1 speding ticket in last 5 years and an accident last year that cost my State Farm policy $24,000 plus some medical bills for myself.

Hope Esurance.com can help you out and you can keep your car.
