Default Engine Bogging!!

Today I was at a light turning left in traffic, and when I let off the clutch and gave it a little gas, the whole car started bogging extremely. Almost like I had hydrolics or something. I was so embaressed! People were looking at me like I didnt know how to drive my car. Thats like the second or third time that has happened since I bought it 3 weeks ago. It was really aggrevating, My question is how do I eliminate this problem? By the way, my air cond. was on the lowest setting, If that has anything to do with it. Someone please help me!!! Thanks Greg

How high were you revving before you let the clutch out. If its below 2500, you'll probably bog. (General Estimation). The air conditioning should have nothing to do with it. Its just the fact that the S2k is a low torque car.

well, which gear were you in? fourth???
i never have this problem, if your car did this in second gear, then there is a problem with your car.

I was roughly revved to about 1500 to 2000 RPM's. I never usually have this problem. Most of the time I dont have to give it lots of gas. So your saying that I should rev to at least 2500?? I just dont want to put any excessive wear on the clutch!

No, I was at a stand still at a light, so naturally I was in 1st gear!! Never have any problems in any other gears.

How warm was it?
Sounds like classic heatsoak and it happens as the weather starts to warm up!!!!

Yeah, I'm familiar with heatsoak, but on my occasion, it was raining and about 50 degrees! Thats why I find this so weird.

o.k. so no heatsoak!

It has happened to me before and the engine almost stalled and I can't imagine what it is then. I have read a couple of threads about this same thing but at least it doesn't sound serious.
Good luck!

I've also had this happen to me a few times - I would probably guess 4-5 times during my year of ownership so far. For me, I'm pretty sure it was temperature related(engine was hot). Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing(almost as embarrassing as the 2nd gear grind, heh ). Now, whenever I start feeling the car is "bogging" I'll quickly shift into 2nd gear and the bogging goes away.

Other owners reported a small throttle blip before engaging the clutch is a benefit to avoiding this sort of bog. I've noticed it, rarely, in my own S.
