Next time, use a bit more throttle and a bit more clutch modulation when facing a similar scenario.
I agree with xviper. I had this same problem and went to the Honda Dealer to get it checked out. They had an S2000 specialist who was a former race-car driver test the car out and he was able to re-create the boggin at his will. He told me it was my way of driving and that the engine needs to be revved higher. Hope this helps.
I think I have had the same problem a few times. I will be just putting in 1st gear at 2000rpms - around a parking lot for instance - going about 8 or 9mph when the car will just start to lurch violently back and forth (front to back) as if the engine is going OFF-ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON. This will last for a few seconds and can be remedied by applying some throttle. It only happens when I am moving at a constant, low rpm in 1st - not when accelerating. This happens to me about once every 2 months.
This is alittle off subject, but since we have all had this "bogging" problem happen at least once, What was everyones most embarressing moment with it? When it happened to me, There was a car full of women in the lane next to me, and of course I didnt give it enough gas, and jerk, jerk, jerk. Therefore, I looked in my rear view mirror and they were laughing at me.
My face was probably as red as a tomato. So whats you guys' most embarressing moments?

The UK and Australian boys call it "bucking" and "kangarooing". There is an instant fix for this scenario. In time you will learn not to do it but you will also learn very quickly that you have tried to move the car off incorrectly and know that embarrassment is just a second or two away. When this begins, immediately push your clutch to the floor, blip the throttle and go again, but this time, the "right" way.
