No oil burning at all in my '00. Of course with only 7700 miles I'm still breaking her in.

I would take it easy with the first 3k miles. I found my car running and gear shifting smoother and smoother after the first 600 miles. I have about 3k miles on it and it feels fantastic.

Cheers,

I beat snot out of my car on the test drive

However once it was mine, I followed the manual to the letter, and I am at 8300 Miles with no worries.

Good Luck with yours!

These idiotic websites come up every time this topic gets posted (Over 50 at least that I remember) I don't even have the energy to argue this right now. Just go ahead and do whatever you want.

Then why even waste everybody's time posting it?
I don't get it. If you don't have personal experience with using it, why post it like you are a proponent of it?
The thread starter asked about breaking in a brand new S2000, and you replied to his post with a method I wouldn't use on a lawn mower.

Because it has a lot of useful information in it, the most obvious being the downfalls of running hard right out of the gate and the fact that the engine being ready does not mean the transmission is ready.

Is this upsetting in some way?
