Engine breakin question..
Just curious what impact it will cause if during the breakin period (300miles) you accidentally rev'ed the engine to 6000rpm during idle. It was just a quick rev but still was over 5500 duh!
Any engine guru out there ?

Not going to be detrimental, I imagine. Many people who have purchased a new s2000 don't realize that when or if it was test driven, it was probably driven hard. Doing it once, and not taking it to 9k rpm I'm sure didn't harm anything.
no you guys... you guys have to tell him that...
a) thats it for your car... your engine will break withen 1000 miles
b) you messed up man, Honda will NEVER cover it
c) say bye bye for that car! how dare you not follow break in to the dot?!
hehe, j/k, don't worry about it, nothing will happen, somethings a little bit more power will help the engine settle better.

Hehehe, sorry bout the stupid question, if it wasn't my car I would say the same thing but i guess you become dumb if it was yours and just wanted to make sure. Thanks again ..

Just got mine to 600mi. I was pretty good about breakin it in. Kinda cool, bought new car 2 weeks ago, now it's like having another new car that's a little more powerful today. Of course now I'm looking at all the great mods shown here, so it might turn into a "new" car every few months
