Default Engine cutsout. WHY?

Today I was at the golf course with the old man. When we finished we got in the car and took off. I believe, but I'm not positive, that when the RPM's were close if not at the point of VTEC engagement, the engine cutsout, so I decide to give it another try and step on it, sure enough it cuts out again.

So I wondered if I needed to let the car warm up or something, but really the car is already friggin hot from just sitting out in he sun. But anyways I drive conservatively for a little while and try it again. Everything is fine, back to normal.

What is the problem or is there a problem.

You can't rev past 6k until you hit three bars on your temp gauge. Please be gentle.

you need 3 bars on your temperature gauge before you can get into VTEC.

There was definately three bars, for the temperature gauge. There was three bars shortly after I started the thing. Just sitting in the sun, kept it warm.

but sometimes even though you have 3 bars you need to let it get to normal operating temperature and the oil needs to circulate. no matter how hot it was sitting in the sun, it wasn't at normal operating temperature.

Alright good enough. Thanks for the info, I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't something wrong that maybe I should get looked at.
