Default Engine Oil.....

I had a 03 S2000, I change oill every 3000 miles.... but recently just had a newborn... so didnt have much time to take care of the car, and I was checking my car just now and found out the engine oil almost burn to empty. Is it normal for S2000???

Thanks!!

From what I understand, it is quite normal for an S2000 to burn oil. Your case seems a little extreme that it would be empty, has the oil light come on? You may be a quart down, and the dip stick is not registering any oil. I would try adding some and checking the level until it registers on the dip stick.

AP1s burn oil, usually about a quart every 1,000 miles. If your dipstick was "almost" dry, you're down a quart.

it states in the owners manual that the car burns oil. most if not all ap1s burn oil. the going rate ive seen is about 1 qt per 3000 miles. from what ive read, most people carry oil with them in their cars just in case. nothing to be too concerned about, just learn to check your oil every so often. most people say to check it when you fill up. so im guessing once a week would be fine.

Just a quick questions, if the oil level reads "L" - Low. How much oil(quart) is still in the engine?
