Default Engine problem??? Above 5500RPM, the car is...

Guys,

I need your opinion, my car is jolting along when I am driving above 5500 RPM; it is like I am hitting the rev limiter (same feeling). This really makes me angry, I had a nice plan for the long w/e

I do not know what is wrong but I just did an oil change and had the transmission and differential liquid replaced. I am almost certain that they did not put the right liquid; I presume they just put some normal 10W30 oil for the transmission because now shifting is very hard and for the jolting, I am wondering if it could come from the differential (incorrect fluid).

Thanks in advance, Tony.

Check your oil level. If that don't work, take the car back, get a refund, take the $ to Canadian Tire and buy the fluids to do it all yourself. With $$ you save, buy yourself a nice pair of mechanix gloves, or a few jack stands or something to make the job eaiser next time...

Did you let your car warm up first before trying to driver it hard?

SHINGLES, yes the car was properly warmed up, I always wait a few more minutes after I got the 3 bars before I enter the magical zone
when it feels like you've hit the limiter, does it continue to rev? or just stops at say 5500 or 6000?

If the car is fully warmed but has intermittent stumble or power drops at high throttle openings it is probably the MAP sensor. Do a search and you will find numerous discussions.

I had a similar problem after idling the car for a couple minutes on a steep driveway. It took a couple weeks, but it eventually went away. My assumption was that with that angle, some air was sucked into the oil system, which of course isn't very good for moving the VTEC pin... Once all the air was worked out, everything was fine.

It does continue to rev but in the VTEC, the stumble are terrible so I will be in the CIVIC mode until tomorrow when I will bring it back to the dealer!!!
