I just can't help feel like an engine abuser everytime i get in my car and blast away. I know it's designed for this high RPM operation but i sometimes want to back off cause the engine feels like shes gonna blow,
but it luckily never does.

 

My car has 22k+ miles on it, with probably 1000 of those miles spent on race tracks. When I'm at the track the car will go 15-20 minutes at a time in VTEC, not going below 6 grand. It never seems to mind. It feels like it wishes it reved to 12 grand. Don't worry about it. The car loves it.

 

Agreed. Be rough with it. The red line and rev-limiter are there for a reason.

When I was talking to my sales guy, he said for me to "drive it like I just stole it."

 

I bounced of the rev limiter of my 8,200 reving 100 hp/liter del Sol VTEC for a good 60,000 miles without a single problem... It's made to rev... do it!

 

Yes, you guys have it right. Like Strike, I have about 20k miles and I would bet that about 2,500 miles of those miles were on tracks...where once I calculated my mileage and it came out to about 5.8 mpg, I think. The car runs like a top...purrs like a kitten and is as strong as ever.

Rev it...Honda knows engines.
