The whole project is already a tricky hack. Frankly, if I was a manufacturer, I wouldn't recommend my customers try this mod.

jerrypeterson,

What solution is not a "hack"? The European spec are not a direct replacement and require reworking. While the Japanese spec point the wrong way. The "gutting" is very definitely a "hack". What do you propose would be better? I figure at least this way the cases are less "hacked" then any other solution being offered so far.

Thanks,

Can someone just put out a complete aftermarket clear headlight housing??? I dont mind paying $400 - 500 for a pair. Right now, there are clear headlight housing for civics and they are going for <$300 a pair.

I think the stock headlight housings are about $350-$400 each. Can't really expect to pay the same as are Civic brothers.

wea - if you do a search you will see that this was attempted at one time and due to the cost involved it just wouldn't be worth it unless someone could guarantee enough sales 100+ pairs to make it worth while. A poll was taken and I guess not enough demand at the dollar amounts that were given. It's still a "gutting process" and just not enough people are willing to go through the painstaking process. I mean what's the cost to make a plastic mold these days, in the thousands I believe?

funsdead - either way you would still have to remove the bumper

carlson - probably the same reasoning applies here, a lot more civic owners than s2000 owners so manufactures haven't found it worthwhile yet. Also you are catering to an even smaller market when you factor in the fact that no one outside of North America would be interested since it's standard equipment in Europe and Asia, and Australia.

Check the MG Racing website, one of our sponsors. Look into the Air Walker, click on search and from that list select lights covers. I think this is what you want.

Whats the reason for making the US spec headlights "amber"???
The new M3 has clear signals, and so will the new 3 series "Sport package"..... I don't mind having a little piece of amber reflector on the bumper like the M3 (which is an easy fix and also it costs less for manufactures to make aftermarket ones) The civics and accords only have a little piece of amber lens in the housing....... WHY us????? HONDA, ANSWER ME!!!!!!! WHY??????? I know you are reading this.......
