Whatever the reason they made it amber it's stupid and was a bad move. 1 out of 5,000 S2K owners prefer the orange. Maybe they did it just to piss us off? This clear corner thing is so OLD, it pains me every time I see it because I too am one of the peeps that dream of having NO ORANGE on my frikin' car, but the truth is that it's just too much damn trouble or cost too much frikin' money and is just too much damn trouble. The only solution I see is that if Honda fixes it themselves. I need more coffee...lol.

To manufacture this thing, we're talking about making a mold or dye for a limited run (under 100 would be my guess) plastic piece. I think the cost per peice might run as high as the cost of a whole new assembly. It's just not economical to undertake.

In my opinion, a US spec headlight with the orange plastic piece removed looks better than the Japan oem headlights, or the JDM headlights.

If you open up your headlights you don't need to replace the orange piece with anything-- just remove it (there are only three little screw that hold it in).

Rick,

Thanks, I think that pretty much sums it up!

John David,

Have you done this? I live in Austin and would like to see it.

Thanks for all your replies. It looks like there is just not enough traction for this project. Maybe with any luck the US 2003 model will come with clear corners looking like the rest of the civilized world.

Cheers,

If at all possible, I'm really interested in seeing the side by side comparison that you mentioned. Kinda, the before and after shots in one. In silver, since I have one, and yellow, since you have one. Thanks.

Lots of people will have cameras at the track event, and I believe Joe is showing up for a little bit, so I will try to get the pictures this weekend. If not, it will probably be a week or two before I can get them. We have h.h. every Friday, but because of the track event, I don't think we are going to have one this Fri.

Thanks. When I spent several months in TX the only water problem we had was the lack of it. Probably HID lights and water don't mix well.

I have a black S2K and I haven't seen or heard many people clearing out their lenses with black cars.

Anyone have a photo of a black car with cleared lenses? I'm not sure how good it will look since orange and black aren't all that bad.
