Default EPS Light/Power Steering Failure Do to Revving?? Thoughts

Living in the Northeast my baby has been hibernating in my garage since January. Every 2 weeks I start her up to warm the engine and move the tire positioning. The last 3 times I started her, the EPS light has been on and the power steering isn

Find the post that istructs how to reset the ECM.

It's like you take out a fuse, wait 15 seconds, and put it back in.

That may fix your problem.

Sorry I don't know which fuse it is.

Thanks, I checked the Library, but the document with the EPS reset instructions was empty:

Does anyone have the exact instructions?

Pull the 7.5 fuse fourth from the top right. I believe this is the one. PM XViper, he'll hook you up.

I subscribed to this thread to see if anyone refuted the original premise. It sounds VERY odd to me that engine revs would affect the electric steering assist... Does anyone confirm jman's hypothesis? I've never heard anything like this.

To me, it sounds like he has a problem with the EPS and should go have the diag codes extracted at the dealer...

If while starting your car and simultaneously turning the steering wheel the EPS will disengage and not work (especially on loose gravel). Try backing car out of garage then drive back in with front wheels straight. Restart car without touching the steering wheel.

Can anyone give a reason for this behavior by the EPS system? Do you guys know what diag code gets logged on this? Is the EPS not getting enough juice when the starter's engaged (so maybe its processor gets confused)?

Thanks for the quote from the Helms manual, j. I have the Honda shop manual. I'm going to read up on this tonight when I get home and see if there's anything to be gleaned in there.

So, tell me something... Is the EPS actually not functioning? Or, is it just that the idiot light is on and you're concerned about it?
