Escaped another speeding ticket!
I was on the beltway today in Baltimore (without my V1, which is with the slow-as-molasses shop in Texas making the custom windshield roof rail for the StreetPilotIII and V1 install). Following my usual driving habit of exceeding the speed limit by at least 20mph
and not accustomed yet to the extra zip provided by the recently installed 4.44 rear gear set, I was pulled over by a Maryland State Trooper, a guy about 25 years old.
I took out my wallet to show him my license and he told me to put it away (first good sign!). Then he asked me what I did for a living (strange question, don't you think?) Next he asked me where I was going. To my office, I said, and I was late. Then he asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I told him I wasn't paying any attention to the speedometer, so I didn't have a clue. "You were going 85," he said, then waived me on, telling me to be careful.
Good luck or what? That's the kind of policeman I like
Why don't they have police like that in North Carolina
