You never mentioned whether or not he got you on radar or laser or anything for that matter. Did he just pull you over because if you're doing well over 40 in a 30 then it's unmistakable that he would even need to shoot your speed.

Hardwired V1 is the best money I've ever spent on my car.

instant on dude. the only way to see it is to have enough range for your detector to catch him doing it to someone ahead of you.

Valentine FTW. all others just give you a false sense of security which equals a ticket.

BS

Ive got this POS in my s2k, my neighbor gave it to me for free

it can detect k/ka and laser (thats only worth mentioning) no pop business, no laser jammer or anything

it gives off false alarms all the time, X-band gets annoying but its whatever

Before i had it, i got pulled over 23 times (yes 23) and issued 12 tickets, 9 of them being speeding in the last two years, one of which was with a yellow s2k.

After having it ive gotten pulled over once in the last year, and it was because i was running late and rolled a right turn through a stop sign. Havent changed my driving style or anything, i just.. know when the cops are out now

I don't bother with radar detectors. False sense of security. I use my eyes and my ears, and by chance I get pulled over (hasn't happened in 5 years), then it's my own fault for breaking the law and I have zero room to complain.

I'm not sure I'd say false sense of security but with RD's every bit of edge in detection helps.

If viper_driver was really going FTW he'd have the 9500ci (IIRC it's in a different league of performance with its externally mounted radar detector) and a V1.

Anecdotal evidence aside, there are certainly situations where a Cobra wouldn't alert and a better RD would. Does that mean it's worth it to you to upgrade? Or that running without the Cobra isn't worthwhile? Not necessarily.

No, there were a group of us being pulled over. One was there when I pulled in and another was entering when I left. It's a great spot for a trap.

I'll check the ticket to see if it's radar or laser (didn't know it was listed).

I don't mind so much the ticket since I deserved it but it's the trap concept that bothers me. They can probably get more people to slow down (including me) more efficiently if they would just show a presence on roads but I guess local revenue comes first.
