My take on this is, if you have to ask, you know the answer.
An even better test is, "Would you hesitate to tell a buyer that you had done so?" If the answer is "yes", then it's not ethical.

When I had a little off-road excursion, the body shop put a vin sticker on the new honda fender. Really didn't think much of it at the time, but I can see that as a dilema. I am sure that isn't the only bodyshop that does it.
They replaced the VIN sticker??

My car hardly has any left either. I guess you could say I "removed" them, but not exactly intentionally....

Pete -- That's a clean look, one that reminds me of much older cars from the days before the proliferation of labels. It makes the engine compartment look completely different -- functional instead of glitzy.

Y'know, if they're gonna put labels in there, why not make them useful? "This is the valve cover." "These are the spark plugs." "Don't touch this, stupid!". Stuff like that. HPH

They didn't switch them, they ordered new ones from Honda. You cannot take them off, they will rip.
you ordered new ones from Honda??? wouldnt that be completely counter intuitive to prevent stolen parts transfer if you could just get some "legit" VIN stickers from the dealer
