You guys think it's bad being a GUY w/ an s2k in traffic, try being a chick lol. Being a chick in general in a "nice" car is a recipie for disaster, because you have creepy people that stare you down as if they are undressing you with thier eyes, then you have the bitchy girls/women they look at you as if they wish your head would explode. This has happened in pretty much all the cars I've had since I haven't driven anything "normal" or stock since about 16years old lol. The S is definitely entertaining though, I had some old dude give me a card the other night w/ his SON'S phone # on it LOL. He kept saying how HE was looking at the car, while he son was more interested in me. Needeless to say, I never called. YIKES.
COme on......

Well, I figured out by now that I could take my pick of the 13-yr old girls in my neighborhood, because they've ALL yelled 'nice car!' or 'gimme a ride!' every time I see them.

The funniest incident was last week. I'm going to the gym, cruising thru the neighborhood in 2nd gear, which keeps me in the 25-30mph range. I'm three houses away from a stop sign, slowing down already, when this old fart (just like the commercial) yells 'SLOW DOWN!!! THERE ARE KIDS ON THIS STREET!!!".

So I back up, and he starts ranting and raving, foaming at the mouth, waving his rake at me, like I'm going to kill him or something. I waited for him to stop (or have a heart attack), and then yelled back 'THIS IS NOT A BUICK!!! THAT WAS 26MPH IN 2ND GEAR, MORON!'. Then I just peeled out and left, but I make sure to drive past his house in 1st gear every day now.

Nice, some people don't get that the car is a sports car. It looks/sounds quicker then it is actually going.

People give me nasty looks at ~20-25mph in neighborhoods. They think I am going 30-35.

Wait until he has a police officer waiting for you with his radar gun. There is nothing that he can do if you are going 25mph in 1st gear. It is you that is using all your gas and you are not breaking any laws.

Thats sooo funny. I get the exact same thing in my neighborhood. Its even funnier because I live on a cul-de-sac, and one of my neighbors also as an S(Silverstone Metallic), and has had his for a few years. When I got mine last year (Formula Red) I never expected to get much attention since I wasn't the first on the block to have one. But low and behold, you would've thought I had brought home a Ferrari!

One girl offered to trade me her Electric Scooter!

I also get the dirty looks while drving through neighborhoods. I am VERY child concious and never drive above 25(the normal posted limit in these areas), yet I still always feel as though I'm gonna get verbally assaulted at any second.

when old people flail their arms telling me to slow down (usually I'm going the speed limit) I just smile and wave back (not an american wave either)

It's nice knowing this seems to happen to everyone...

A little OT, but I never realized how much attention the car would garnish either... At least once a week I get a random person that says "hey nice car", driving and stopped. 9/10 when I do a little pull with someone on the street, I get a huge thumbs up or "that thing is sick". There's no happy medium with the S, it's either really good attention or really bad attention.

Psychologically it's interesting... I've always driven semi-aggresively, but I'd like to think I'm a fairly good / safe driver. In my 1.8T Jetta I NEVER had anyone say nice car, and I got flipped off and evil looks all the time. In the S, people get out of the way, smile, wave, etc... It's almost as if they're ok with someone driving fast in a sports car, it's just a given. I wonder how the world treats STi / Evo drivers since they're more like sedans?
