and you coming off as an elitist in regards to this forum and how you "wait for idiotic remarks" makes you oh so deserving of your car?
Wisconsin, you are the poster boy for the S2k. You were when I had my S2k and you will still be once I am way done w/ the Evo and in Z06. I came in here to try to shock some of you into believe that the S2k isn't the end all be all car. This attitude is common among S2k owners and I don't know why, it pissed me off when I had my S2k. Supra forums, they are as bad....I rarely visit them though.

As for Kent Jordan being the only one, like I said, search the Roadracing section and you will find more. Aside from that, most people dragrace w/ the Evo and do not roadcourse it. Its very easy to get power out of these cars and there are many options to making very big power w/ them, so most people go that route. Its also a vvvveerrrryy expensive car to track. Brembo rotors to replace and expensive brake pads. 245/40/17 are what most people track on tire wise and we run that at all 4 corners, that $$$$$ in tires to replace when they go. Its a heavier car, so it goes through both of those very quickly. The S2k is much cheaper to track then the evo and most evo owners can't or don't want to afford it.

Oh yea, and don't forget Vishnu's performance at one lap of America coming in 5th overall against MUCH more powerful cars....guess the car had to make up the difference in the corners.

Back to the TOPIC at hand, a stock Evo vs a stock S2000's handling. The best test of handling between mostly stock cars is A stock Auto-Xing. The S2000 has proved to be a better handling car. On top of all that, the S2000's handling characteristics make it the more fun car to drive.
I wouldn't consider cone-dodging to be the best test of real-world handling...after all, how often do you need to whip a 180 deg. turn as fast as possible?

I haven't driven an Evo, but I can't imagine it would be as fun to drive regardless of any performance advantage. The open top, rwd handling dymanics, and 9k rpm redline are subjective factors than outweigh any objective measures for me.

Hehe, it's called the tail of the dragon and it's located in Tennessee. And honestly, this road has so many turns that come one right after the other, that you barely get a chance to get over 70-80mph. 318 turns in 11 miles.

When you compare two greats cars like the S or the Evo you cannot look at the performance merely on paper and determine which one is better. Both cars were created through different types of racing knowledge and heritage. The S2000 is a lightweight, rwd, roadster which represent the essence of a pure sports car. It is meant to stir the soul and allow you to become one with the vehicle. The Evo is a rally bred monster made to accelerate and brake very quickly and is capable of handling on almost every surface, dirt, tarmac, snow, etc. Things that the S2000 cannot do. There are pros and cons to each car but ultimately it all comes down to the fact that both are exciting cars. I can go on and on but lets just leave it at that.

If you want to mod your car, I suggest getting the Evo. Its extremely mod friendly and youll have more fun playing with the turbo. If your going to keep it mostly stock with a few mods, then perhaps the s2000 would be better. Its already highly tuned from the factory and your gonna have to use tons of money to greatly improve on it. The S2000 does seem more exclusive and driving with the top down is awesome! But yea, the Evo is definitely faster and it handles so well on any surface. Its one of those cars that actually makes the driver faster. Not the other way around. Its so forgiving. The S2000 you need skills to bring out the full potential. I am still working on that. It
