I'm looking for the same thing, only for an '04. I don't particularly want it to be very loud, if it is a bit loud that's ok I suppose as long as the tone is right. Nice and throaty. Everyone seems to like the Invidia but I'm concerned it may have a bit too much of that ricerboy Civic exhaust sound to it (just because of how loud it's said to be and that sometimes goes hand in hand with that raspy boy-racer tone). Plus I've not seen it available for the '04 anywhere. It sure looks sweet though and the weight savings are ++.

Check the link in this thread out, it may help you a lot. Not sure how much use it will be to me as I don't know how many of these are available for the '04 yet.

Just watched that big comparison video they have there and for what it's worth the Fujitsubo Dual Legalis R and the Power House Amuse R1-Titan Euro (Dual) sounded the best to me in terms of the tone you're looking for. The Mugen Sports Exhaust System sounded flat out mean, but I believe it may be a touch too raspy for me, I'd like to hear it in person though to be sure.

Edit: The Comptech sounded damn good, especially at low to mid rpm's, it got a little raspy up top but I can't tell if that's just inherent to all of them or maybe even an effect of the compression codec.

The way you describe the sound you are looking for I think you would be happy with the Comptech exhaust. Doesn't sound "ricey" at all and has a nice deep tone.

if you do not know who spugen is, it is a company owned by an s2000 owner that designs and builds mods for our cars...

Actually the owner of www.teamspugen.com has 2 S2000s. One for him and one for the Mrs.

Definitely agree with the comptech. They have a larger tip for the 04's and you can get a great discount at the S2KI store if you're a member (which pays for itself with the savings on the exhaust). Good sound with good price. Mugen sounds great too, but the $1500 would be your call.

If you plan on getting an intake in the future, I'd do that first. It tends to change your exhaust note a bit sometimes. I just put an intake on mine and now I'm not sure I want to do an exhaust anymore because the stock sounds so much better.
