Default Exhaust Change Woes - Any suggestions

In the process of changing out the stock exhaust on KAMcDonald's S2 yesterday evening we ran into a problem with the studs on the cat. It seems the nuts "bonded" for lack of a better word to the studs. One of the studs snapped off and one of them was pretty much stripped of the threads by the time we got the nut off. It seems as if those studs are actually a part of the cat. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so what have you done to correct it? My thinking is to try and drill it out and through bolt it. Any / all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

they can be hammered out.

careful though, those bolts cost $8 each. i think they're 'heat-treated' or something?

Yup...same thing happened to me on the bottom most bolt. I just used a rubber hammer and it came right out then replaced it with a bolt I had (I still need to go to honda to get the right one...), but it was really easy I didn't even take the cat off.

Thanks a lot. I had Keith pick up the bolts (3 new ones to be safe) from Honda today and we're installing them tonight.

Same here. I had to hammer out all 3 and replaced them with Stainless steel bolts/nuts.

Just finished replacing them. I hammered them out with a little help from good ol' WD40. No big deal. Thanks for the input guys.
