Default Exhaust Drone

Well originally didnt have a resonator on the car since I had stock mufflers. Then I changed out the mufflers to an aftermarket brand and it sounded great but the drone was pretty bad. Others advised me if I were to get a resonator back on the car that it would resolve the issue. This morning, went to install a resonator which I picked up locally from another member, it was an audi resonator, but when I went to the shop, they advised it wouldn't fit since it was too long and the piping was 2 inches.

Then they advised me they had a land rover resonator which I could use and fit perfectly. They installed that for me and when I turned on the car, I heard the difference. The mufflers weren't as loud.

When I started driving the car, around 3-4.5 rpms, If I were to let go of the gas, the drone is still there. Not as bad as before but still significant. Would putting a honda factory resonator make a difference or can I do something to correct this issue.

Do all aftermarket exhaust have this drone.

I want to keep the exhaust since they sound great but the drone gets to me. Some might be able to tolerate it but I can't. What are my options.

I can just take a loss, sell the mufflers, and go back to stock but I want that to be my last option.

Thanks for any help

I could have spent 450-600 dollars and still been in the same situation. many have reported that even aftermarket exhaust have a drone around 3-5k.

Silencers would be a cheap experiment you might try. You could also stuff some steel wool in the rear of the silencer that may help.

IMO - Go back to stock and sell the mufflers

You can keep experimenting, but at the end go with what worked

I think big, heavy mufflers help drone more than anything.

Think you might be right. I just wanted a bit more sound out of the mufflers but the drone gets to me. The only thing I would miss is the sound these mufflers produced.

Thanks for all your replies
