Exhaust loud...
Hey Guys,
Just posted in the "Hi, I am new owner" area. Those of you who posted to my questions on the cars I have looked at, many many thanks. I am very happy with my purchase; an SC'd 01, looked over by an AEM certified guy pre-purchase, from sunny Florida.
I have one concern; it's too damn loud for my old self. The previous owner had lots of goodies installed, including a Comptech SC, CT headers, AEM fuel management system, Stoptech brakes, Exeedy clutch, JIC shocks, 18" HRE wheels and a Tanabi cat back exhaust.
Now, as you may all recall, I am not the technical whiz here... but I believe it is the "tips" that result in the ear shattering NASCAR sound, correct? I have owned 2 NSX's and loved it's stock sound. What can I do to decrease the noise pollution on my new toy, without interfering with the air flow?
I await your valued acumen...

If you love the way your car sounds and just want to increase the liveability level in the cabin you can approach this two ways. You can isolate the drone at pipe level which I did in this thread
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=343230
or you can insulate your cabin thoroughly like I did in this thread

It's all sound-tuning so you can have a MEAN sounding car and LIVE with it

Thanks guys. Can the original tips be reinstalled without affecting the air flow? The original owner is sending them to me.
