Default exhaust piping

I been thinking about buying an exhaust, but just thought it would be a waste to spend a $1000 dollars for minimal gains, so decided to go with a custom exhaust that would yield possibly the same power, and save a lot of money. I was wondering what size piping i should use? Im getting the piping done most likely from the header back, and want a good size that would give the most gains. I also would like to upgrade headers in the future. Im thinkin 2.75 inch piping back, and using a truck resonator for the muffler. Should i go bigger with the piping, and any good suggestions when going custom?

70mm is about 2.75 so you are correct. You should go with a Megan cheapie muffler for 100 bucks.

the reason why i didnt want to really use a muffler was because the straight through exhaust would be Really loud. Im going to use use resonators as mufflers to hopefully keep it from being insanly loud.

Resonators are like small straight-through mufflers, going with anything but straight-through will probably cause you to lose power.
